MAG boxes are dedicated IPTV set-top boxes with a simple, cable-style interface. Instead of a username and password, your box is recognised by its MAC address, and you only need to enter one portal URL.
What you need
- A MAG set-top box connected to your TV by HDMI
- The MAG remote
- An Ethernet cable (recommended) or a Wi-Fi adapter, with about 25 Mbps for Full HD
- Your box’s MAC address, found on the sticker underneath
- A Mega IPTV subscription. When you choose a plan or request a free trial, select MAG as your device
Step 1: Send us your MAC address
When you order and pick MAG box as your device, the order form asks for your MAC address. You can also send it to support afterwards. It looks like 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX.
We register the box and email you your portal URL. Double-check the MAC address before you send it — a single wrong character means the box cannot connect.
Step 2: Open the system settings
- Turn on the MAG box and wait for the main menu.
- Press the Settings (or SET) button on the remote, or select Settings on screen.
- Open System settings.
Step 3: Add the Mega IPTV portal
- In System settings, select Servers.
- Select Portals.
- Under Portal 1 name, type “Mega IPTV”.
- Under Portal 1 URL, type the portal URL from your email exactly as written, including
http://and any trailing slash. - Leave Portal 2 empty unless support has given you a second URL.
- Press OK to save.
Step 4: Restart the box
- Go back to System settings.
- Select Restart portal, or unplug the box for ten seconds and plug it back in.
- The box loads the Mega IPTV portal. The first load can take a minute.
Step 5: Start watching
- Select TV to open live channels by category.
- Press EPG or Guide on the remote for the schedule.
- Use Video Club or VOD for movies and series.
- Add favourites with the FAV button.
You are now watching Mega IPTV on your MAG box.
Get the most out of Mega IPTV on your MAG box
MAG boxes are built for TV, and a few settings help them shine:
- Set the right resolution. In System settings → Video, choose the output resolution that matches your TV (1080p or 4K on 4K-capable models) and set the frame rate to auto if available.
- Keep the firmware current. Run System settings → Software update every few months. Updates often improve stability and add support for newer stream formats.
- Use favourites. Press FAV on the channels you watch most to build a quick list, so you are not scrolling through every category.
- Set up parental controls. Under System settings → Parental control, choose a PIN and lock adult or unsuitable categories.
- Leave the box on standby. MAG boxes reconnect faster from standby than from a full power-off.
If you also want to watch on a phone or tablet away from home, contact support — we can tell you how to use your subscription on other devices.
Troubleshooting
“Your STB is blocked” or “Portal not found”
- Check that the MAC address on the sticker matches the one you sent us, character by character.
- Re-enter the portal URL — look for missing slashes, colons or a mistyped domain.
- If your subscription has just been ordered, wait for the activation email before connecting.
Endless “Loading portal” screen
- Restart the box and your router.
- Use an Ethernet cable rather than Wi-Fi.
- Go to System settings → Network and set DNS to automatic, or try a public DNS server.
- Run System settings → Software update to make sure the box firmware is current.
Buffering or picture breaking up
- Connect by Ethernet — MAG boxes work best wired.
- In System settings → Playback, increase the Buffer size to medium or high.
- Pause other heavy downloads while you watch.
For more network fixes, see our guide to fixing IPTV buffering.
The TV guide is empty
- Restart the portal from System settings.
- Check that the time zone under System settings → Time settings is correct.
- Give the guide a few minutes after the first load.
Still not working? Contact our support team with your MAC address and a photo of the message on screen.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my MAG box's MAC address?
It is printed on the sticker underneath the box and usually starts with 00:1A:79. You can also find it on screen under Settings → System information or Status.
Which MAG models are supported?
Current MAG models that support portal URLs, such as the MAG 322, 324, 349, 351 and 520 series, work with Mega IPTV. Very old models may not support newer streaming formats.
Can I move my subscription to a different MAG box?
Yes. Because the account is linked to a MAC address, contact support with the new box's MAC address and we will update it for you.
Why do I need to send my MAC address?
The portal recognises your box by its MAC address. Registering it activates your subscription on that box — it is the MAG equivalent of a username and password.
