Android is the most flexible platform for Mega IPTV. Whether you have a phone, a tablet, a smart TV running Google TV or a TV box, the steps are almost identical.
What you need
- An Android phone or tablet, or an Android TV / Google TV device or box
- A Google account signed in to the Play Store
- A stable connection — around 10 Mbps for HD on a phone, 25 Mbps for Full HD on a TV
- Your Mega IPTV login. No account yet? See the Mega IPTV subscription prices or request a free trial
Step 1: Update your device
- Open Settings.
- On phones and tablets, go to System → Software update (the name varies by manufacturer). On Android TV and Google TV, go to System → About → System update.
- Install any available update and restart.
Also open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Manage apps & device, and update everything listed.
Step 2: Install an IPTV player from the Play Store
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for “IPTV player”.
- Choose an app that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists and has recent, positive reviews. On a TV, pick one designed for remotes (it will say “Android TV” in the listing).
- Tap Install.
If you prefer a player that is not on the Play Store, only download it from the developer’s official website. On Android TV you will need to allow your file manager or the Downloader app to install unknown apps in Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions.
Step 3: Enter your Mega IPTV login
Open the player. On first launch it asks how you want to sign in.
- Choose Xtream Codes API (also called “Xtream login” or “Login with API”).
- Give the profile a name, such as “Mega IPTV”.
- Enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome email. Copy and paste them on a phone to avoid typos.
- Tap Add user or Login.
If the app only supports playlists, choose M3U URL and paste the playlist link from your email instead.
Step 4: Wait for channels and the guide to load
The player downloads your channel list, movies, series and the electronic programme guide (EPG). The first time can take a minute or two.
- Leave the app open until loading finishes.
- Open Live TV, pick a category and choose a channel.
- Open TV guide or EPG to see the schedule.
Step 5: Personalise your setup
A few small tweaks make everyday viewing easier:
- Favourites: long-press a channel and add it to favourites.
- Parental controls: most players let you lock categories with a PIN.
- Stream format: if playback is choppy, switch the player’s stream format between HLS and MPEG-TS in settings.
- Auto-start: on Android TV boxes, some players can open automatically when the box powers on.
You are now ready to watch Mega IPTV on your Android device.
Troubleshooting
Streams buffer or freeze
- Restart the device and your router.
- On phones, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see whether the problem follows the connection.
- On TV boxes, use an Ethernet cable if possible.
- Clear the player’s cache: Settings → Apps → [player] → Storage → Clear cache.
- Try the other stream format (HLS or MPEG-TS) in the player’s settings.

“Invalid credentials” or “Server not responding”
- Re-enter the details carefully, including
http://at the start of the server URL. - Make sure the date and time on your device are set automatically.
- Turn off any VPN or private DNS temporarily and try again.
The TV guide is blank
- Open the player’s settings and refresh or update the EPG.
- Check that your time zone is correct.
- Some players need you to switch on “Load EPG on start” in their settings.

Frequently asked questions
Will Mega IPTV work on my Android TV box?
Yes. Any Android TV box, Google TV device or Android-based set-top box that can install apps from the Play Store or from a downloaded file can run a compatible IPTV player.
Can I watch on mobile data?
Yes, but streaming uses a lot of data — roughly 1.5 to 3 GB per hour in HD. Lower the stream quality in the player's settings, or stick to Wi-Fi if your data plan is limited.
Can I cast from my Android phone to my TV?
Some players support casting to a Chromecast or Google TV device. However, installing the player directly on the TV device usually gives smoother playback and a better remote experience.
Which Android version do I need?
Most current IPTV players run on Android 7 or newer. If the Play Store says an app is not compatible, try another player or update your device's software.
